Witnessing
- The Saviour who died to save us compels us to tell others about Him (Mark 5:19).
- We bear witness of Jesus’ finished work to each other as a reminder we are accepted not in our efforts but in His work (Romans 8:1) and that in His work we can do good works (Ephesians 2:10).
- We bear witness of Jesus’ finished work to others as The Good News, calling them to repent and believe this good news (Mark 1:15).
- We bear this witness in the regular context of our lives together as we work with and live around, eat and drink with, and befriend each other and unbelievers (Luke 7:34).
Witnessing Together
- When we worship together and walk together then we already have a context of shared lives in which to witness together (Acts 2:46-47).
- We invite a non-Christian friend to dinner, but a Christian friend to join us too.
- Or we are going to an activity together with others in our gospel community, and we invite a non-Christian friend along.
- And when God in His mercy saves some (NB: Our witnessing does not save, God saves!), they already know us in community, so they join us in worshipping and walking and witnessing together.
